Welcome to climb local!
ClimbLocal.org is an effort to call for action in the struggle to slow down the process of global warming. As you know, Global warming is a real issue that has been undermined for many years by governments and corporations; as a consequence of this, law and policy makers and the press media have created misleading information for decades. However, in the last few years more and more people have been changing their attitude towards this matter. (Read more in the Background page.)
What you can do
This is a grassroots activist project. The only thing you have to do is to commit yourself to climb locally for one year. During that year you can give talks with us to create awareness about the objective of the project, this is, the reduction of the carbon footprint by not flying to other places to go in expedition. Soon we will have T-shirts and other stuff that you can wear to show your support to the planet. Another way to show support of the ClimbingLocal.org project is by creating online journals that can be read around the globe by other climbers and hikers to create awareness of what Colorado climbers and hikers. Thus, we will be starting a weblog for the project. (Keep an eye open!)
Participating organizations (sponsors) will also promote the ClimbingLocal.orgproject and will show their affiliation by showing the ClimbingLocal.org logo in their PR material, such as websites, magazines, advertisements, catalogues, fliers, posters, newsletters, etcetera. Also, they will be official retailers for clothing and memorabilia of the ClimbingLocal.orgproject. All the product material will include the logos of all the official sponsors.
